The University of Jordan (UJ) has concluded a memorandum of understanding with Al-Quds University to develop joint cooperation in academic and scientific areas.
The MoU was signed by UJ Vice-president, Prof. Mohammad W. Batsh and the Executive Vice President of Al-Quds University, Prof. Imad AbuKishk.
The MoU comes in the context of establishing a genuine strategic partnership between the two universities.
“The agreement comes as part of UJ’s keenness to cooperate with Palestinian universities, especially this one, due to its importance to UJ in particular and Jordan in general", UJ Vice President, Prof. Mohammed W. Batsh said during a meeting with Al-Quds University delegation.
The agreement will contribute to promoting joint cooperation in medical, educational and humanitarian fields, according to Batsh.
UJ has always been open to partnerships and joint collaboration leading to improving education, Batsh added.
From his part, AbuKishk emphasized the existing deep relations between the two universities, adding that the MoU is to formalize bilateral relations in areas of student training at UJ and its hospital, and graduate programs, particularly the Master’s of Criminology program offered at Faculty of Arts.
In a related context, UJ Vice President for Humanitarian Faculties Affairs, Prof. Hani Dmour, and Vice President for Scientific Faculties Affairs, Prof. Azmi Mahafzah examined with the visiting delegation a number of cooperation scenarios.
Dmour pointed out that a number of issues have been discussed concerning the possibility of providing joint programs that allows for students at Al-Quds University to enroll at the University of Jordan.
